The boys have their Early Start evals this week. Wednesday to be exact. I am very nervous about it. I know Ja.son is meeting milestones for at least his adjusted age, but for Sh.awn? Sh.awn still has a ways to go to even reach his adjusted age.
And I don't want to hear anything negative about my little guy.
Because he has come A LONG way in just a short time.
Because he has been through so much.
Because hearing those negative thoughts will only cement my own fears firmly in my mind. I wrestle with those demons enough without having something external reinforce them.
Add to the fun a visit with their neurologist and pediatrician on Friday, and well, this is going to be one long week.
Big hugs to you..
ReplyDeleteI'm not nearly as far along in this as you. But just the initial EI evals, I was nervous..
And every little thing I was freaked out "weakness" wHAT?! WEAK!? "Normal for a newborn.." Oh.
People just have no clue..
Hoping for great news all around.
I know you are scared but I'm excited to hear how happy they are that they've hit so many milestones. ONLY POSITIVE. ONLY POSITIVE. right ?
ReplyDeleteKeep us updated. No matter what they say, we all think they've done FANTASTICALLY well in a such a short amount of time.
What a big week, I hope its all good news like last week.
ReplyDelete{{{HUGS}}} It will all be ok :)
ReplyDeleteI understand your fear all to well, Stacie. Here's hoping that you and the guys make it through the week relatively unscathed and feeling positive about progress and potential!
ReplyDelete((HUGS)) I hope the doctors focus on the positives for both boys, because obviously they are making great jumps.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to wish you luck with this. One of my best friends will be doing this soon with her son, and she's nervous too. ((hugs))

ReplyDeleteYou'll get through this! You know all the wonderful things your babies have mastered - they are just fine, no matter what anyone else says. Here's a *hug* for you. ICLW.
ReplyDeleteSending you HUGS and well wishes.
ReplyDeleteICLW.
I hope you get good news. When EI came out to do an eval on my twins for speech, we found they were further ahead than we had thought. Hope the same happens for you. (ICLW)
