Sh.awn continues to do well. I am not yet ready to stop stressing, but he is eating with a vengeance and acting like his usual self. His eyes, especially his right eye, continues to drift to the left on occasion, although even I have to admit it isn't as often as it was before. I went back to my notes from last year and read that his right eye took longer to return to center than his left after those dark days. The only thing that seems off now is his balance. He topples easier than he did before, but for now I am going to just watch how he does as his body/brain heals from the surgery. Maybe he has a bit of vertigo? He started pulling himself up again yesterday, so I hope that he's going to get back to his normal sooner rather than later.

It is so hard to see his now bald head and look at that new 3 inch incision on his sweet little head and not feel a pang of guilt, though. Sigh.

I had a great time at Wicked with my girlfriends. My mind and body needed to step away from everything for just those 30 hours to refresh and renew. I was able to come back and really look at Sh.awn, see the changes from the day before, and feel hopeful. I couldn't ask for more than that. Plus, who wouldn't feel good when two little ones squeal in delight upon your return? Not I, that is for sure!
