Cautious...

...guarded.

Not Sure How to Feel Yet.

Not ready to celebrate yet, that's for sure.

It is hard to see in the picture, but it's there. Even I have to turn my screen just so to see it on the computer. Maybe squint your eyes while you're at it. It's from 4dp4dt (4 days after a 4 day transfer) which was last night.

I tested again this morning, but everything about the test is much, much lighter (that includes the control line) so it doesn't look any darker. There is still a line. The line still came up well within the three minutes, but it just isn't all that impressive as far as lines go. It definitely NOT the unmistakable, "Holy cow, girl! How many are you cooking in there?" kind of line I was looking for.

I think I believe that this is probably not trigger residuals. It wouldn't get noticeably darker from am to pm if it was. And yes, this is still VERY, very early in the game.

So, the jury is still out as to whether this will mean good news or not. There is always the chance that something is trying to start but may not stick around for the long haul.

I hope with everything I've got that isn't the case.

Opinions?

I showed Is.aac the test last night. He hardly even reacted. It hurt my feelings so badly. (hormonal? me?) I was like, aren't you glad we may be pregnant? He just kept saying that he wouldn't be this nervous if he didn't think I'd get pregnant.

Hm.

Then the conversation was over. No explanations or anything.

Poor guy won't know what hit him when he walks in the door tonight with that kind of comment still hanging in the air.

  1. I think I see it!

Also, I think this entire experiencce is emotionally difficult for spouses, but in a different way. I remember when I get the fertilization report for our IVF cycle in which we conceived the boys--I found out that only 5 eggs out of 22 retrieved mature eggs had fertilized. Only 5!! I just burst into tears and thought the cycle was over. Matt was so unconcerned, and didn't see what the big deal was at all, even when I explained that 75% of eggs are supposed to fertilize. It was pins and needles until we found out the day of transfer that we had 3 good embryos to transfer--who are actually now playing outside!

But I totally don't think that they "get" the whole anxiety issue. Maybe it's much easier for them to wait for results...while we are biting our nails!

  3. Oh, girl, don't be hurt by his reaction. He's protecting his and your hearts from disappointment. Remember, it's still a good 6 days early to get a reliable yes or no.

Be patient and keep on hoping!

  4. Oooh. I see it. I completely understand the desire to try to keep your hopes and emotions in check. What would I do? What I've always done, which is limit my liquid intake, hold my pee for at least three hours, then test again later this evening. Because I'm obsessive like that. ;)

As for the comment - ouch. I had a similar reaction from Frank when I was bouncing off the walls with my first BFP with Kaelyn and Frank responded with a mere, "Mmmhmm." However, he went on to explain that he just didn't want to get his hopes up until he saw more proof that he could believe in. For him, that came 2 days later when I got a positive digital and even more when I got a great beta the next day. Hopefully, Is.aac is feeling the same sort of trepidation and controlled hope and just did a piss poor job of expressing it this morning.(((hugs)))

  6. I definitely saw the other line before I read the rest of the post. I don't even need to squint on my screen. Saying a cautious yay :-)

  7. Guys so don't get it. And I know how you feel, my line was/is pretty dark and I'm still worried.. I just want it to be March and I want to be holding my live baby in my arms. Then I will calm down. So I have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

My husband and I may be diving into the world of IVF in the near future and it scares the crap out of me, so it's nice to read a blog like yours and learn a little bit more about it! I've added you to my follow list -- looking forward to reading more! And I hope you see two very clear lines soon!!
