The Human Pillow Has Escaped

I have had someone laying on me pretty much 24/7 since Friday morning. Thankfully, I have finally escaped from being Sh.awn's personal pillow. (Or Jack's. Or Sh.awn's AND Jack's together.) It's a good thing, too, because I was not so slowly losing my mind.

Sh.awn is still what can only be described as fragile. Oh man is he a grumpy boy. His eyes still bother him from the stitches. (He keeps hollering at me to stop poking him in his eyes. Why am I the one he thinks is poking him in the eyes?) Plus we have to put drops in his eyes 3 times a day. The drop scenes are pretty intense--shrieks of terror and pain leave us all exhausted after them. But I do have to say that my boy has some of the strongest freaking eyelids I have ever encountered! Good grief.

As if that wasn't enough on my plate, today my stomach has been rebelling from the stress of Friday. Fun times. Not.

Sigh.

B and SIL had their first visit to L&D yesterday. The birth mom was contracting at 7 minutes apart. They were there for several hours to see if things progressed. They were ultimately sent home.

She's due June 10th.

  2. What a great place to be....all cuddled with mom :)
Glad he's finally lifting his lid and letting you get some stuff done.
Here's hoping you'll stop poking him in the eyes. ha ha

  3. Poor little Shawn and poor you. Hope he feels 100% soon.

And, good luck to your brother and SIL.

  4. Stacie,

If you can get Shawn to agree to it, there is a relatively simple way to do the eye drops. Have him lie down and close his eyes. You put the drops in the corner of his eyes. When he opens his eyes, the medicine goes in. It does sound simple, but reality can be something else entirely. I hope he feels better soon.

I'm sending good vibes to B & SIL that everything goes smoothly for the delivery!

This part made me giggle in sympathy. My LO got his fingers stuck in the sliding closet doors yesterday as he and Daddy were playing around...and somehow it was *my* fault! I went to give him a kiss and got an angry palm mush to the face instead. Sheesh.
