Weekend Leftovers

I'm on my phone, so excuse the typos. Auto correct has not been my friend lately.


So, here it is 30 minutes until midnight on Sunday and I am just getting to the leftovers. Somehow the weekend flew out the window!

I am lying in a bed in a hotel room as I write this. I'm at a three day conference in another city four hours away. I don't get back home until Wednesday evening.

I am torn between being really excited to be on my own, away from the family, and being really sad that I am away from the family. I do feel a bit guilty that I'm excited to be away (but not guilty enough to not enjoy myself).

Olympics. My heart just breaks for those athletes who are not able to pull out that dream performance. I mean, all that work...it has to be such a HUGE, crushing disappointment when they fall, or have a bad start, or get disqualified for some reason. I want them all to do their very best! Sometimes I am such a Pollyanna.

I have 15 short days of summer vacation left. Boo.

I would really appreciate it if Target would stop showing its back to school commercials for at least another week. It is seriously cramping my ability to deny the inevitable.

We went to a local farm this weekend. The boys had a blast playing in the dirt and picking berries. They are still talking about it.

When they aren't asking to go to Disneyland, that is. Lol.
