We got our first email from the teacher today.
On a Saturday afternoon. Yeah.
Saturday letters are not a good sign.
They're well thought out and filled with carefully chosen words asking about how he behaves at home and if we think school is too over stimulating for him.
My response was well thought out, too. It was also filled with carefully chosen words about my thoughts on the matter. I have plenty of thoughts, oh yes I do.
Sigh.
I've done my crying over it. (for the time being at least) Now I'm just plain angry.
As much as it pisses me off that I have to do this, I am rolling up my sleeves.
Bring it, school.
It's on.

Oh no. I'd like to say at least she's taking the time to communicate with you, but I'm pretty sure those questions would have pissed me off too. You go Momma. Bring it on, like Donkey Kong!

As an elementary school teacher turned SAHM to boy/girl twins, I have dual perspective. Or at least I like to think so... I'm sure the Mommy in me will always come out before the teacher part does. That being said, I think it's total crap to send parent's an email on the weekend. All that does is ruin someone's weekend, give things time to escalate (maybe unnecessarily), and just seems a bit impersonal. In an email you can't read someone's tone, where over the phone that is more clearly defined. Also, I'm a firm believer in "say it forget it, write it regret it". Once she wrote things down and hit sent, it's there. You can print it out and show it to the world. (which I would encourage you to print and save all correspondences in a file folder, you just never know when you need documentation of something that was said or done... I did this as a teacher. CYA, you know?!) I'm sorry this is happening to you.
