Last night, I didn't set my PIO shot up before I got in bed. Is.aac has been coming to bed later than me and sort of wakes me up to give me shots. Anyway, he came in to get ready for bed and woke me to ask where the shot was. I told him why bother. He prepared the shot himself and gave it to me anyway.

But have I asked him his feelings about what we'll find on Sunday? No. I can't bring myself to. He hasn't brought it up either so we haven't said a single word since the appointment about what is going on. It has been thirty-six hours and nothing has been said.

Uncomfortable much?

I am doing everything I can to make sure that if the bean is fighting in here, he'll have a chance. I so want to go in there on Sunday and find a heartbeat. Please let there be a heartbeat. Let everything look wonderful and just as it should so I no longer have to worry about my bean. Please.

It is hard to say that because I KNOW I am just setting myself up once again for more pain. Part of me just wants to say fuck it and go on some sort of wild drinking binge (except I don't drink) because only when I do everything I shouldn't and potentially harm the bean would he be there on Sunday. Doing what I am supposed to do practically guarantees that I won't see the thing I want most that day. Does that make sense? My life is screwy that way. Sigh.

The day of my first beta was a therapy day. The nurse called to tell me the beta number and shortly afterward the RE called to talk to me, too. It was very obvious that something was up because not only does no one ever call me during therapy, but even I knew I was acting strange. I confessed to the therapist that I just may be pregnant. (she has a preemie that is the same age as the boys' adjusted age and has been trying for quite some time for number 2) Anyway, she confessed that she was 2 days late. We talked about how the competition is on to see who can stay pregnant longer (no preemies for us!) and pledged that we'd get uncomplicated pregnancies this time. You know, should betas double and she never get her period.

Last week I didn't see her. We had canceled therapy because I was supposed to be out of town. Today, she called and said she was running late, but she was on her way. No problem I tell her, I'd see her soon. Five minutes later, she called back. She said she had to go to the doctor right now and was cancelling. My heart sank. By the tone of her voice I just have this fear that something has gone wrong with her pregnancy, too. It just isn't fair.

I have to tell you that it is hard to wallow in self pity when there are so many other people you know of who are hurting, too.

Should there not be a heartbeat on Sunday, I will be crushed. I will cry. I will rage. But, I will pick myself up and try again. That is what I do. That is what everyone must do.

It isn't fun, and it isn't easy, but it has to be done anyway.

  1. I am hoping right along with you, love! "please please PLEASE, let Stacie see/hear a heartbeat!" I wish I could take all the hope from you so you won't be in pain if the worst happens. I wish I could do something besides write these words in this little white box.

Sending you all I've got, hon! I really am!
    *HUGS*

  2. What the hell is going on this summer. So many difficulties, so many struggles. I am so sorry for what you're going through. I've been there myself in April and July. . . and the fear is awful and its the worst and I hate that you're there right now.

You said: Part of me just wants to say fuck it and go on some sort of wild drinking binge (except I don't drink) <-- I don't either but you know its only after my losses that I've wanted so badly to lose myself completely in an alcoholic stupor.

*hugs* You're in my thoughts and prayers, I am SO SO sorry you have to go through this. We don't know each other and I'm a new reader, but I feel I know you because I understand your pain (though will never fully know it since its yours and yours alone) and I am here to share in your burden as you carry your grief.

  3. Sigh. I hope you get your miracle on Sunday.

Things suck. And it's not fair. There's no sense at all sometimes, it seems.

  4. I am hoping with everything I've got that you'll see a perfect little heartbeat tomorrow!!!

If you don't, you'll indeed pick yourself up again, but it would be so unfair if you HAVE to do that. So. Heartbeat. Tomorrow. Really.

And the not talking thing? I haven't been able to tell my DH about the spotting. I've tried. A couple of times. But I just can't. I don't want to be the one to break his heart. If our ultrasound Wednesday brings bad news, we'll break together. Until then, he gets to enjoy what MIGHT still be there. Someone has to...

I hate the limbo of not knowing. It's really, really hard.

  7. You made the statement "why bother" I myself made that statement. A few months after i delivered my 3rd child (deceased). I was pregnant again and bled EVERY MOTHER LOVING DAY from 6wks-13or14wks and at one point i said why bother(I think it had to do with worrying about weather or not to lift some heavy dog or take an e-ray) and you know what my little man is now 15months old, he hung on for dear life and nothing was going to move him!!!

Hoping and praying for that miracle heartbeat tomorrow!!
We your friends and fans will do all the hoping for you!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Hey there...I will be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping with all my might that there's a heartbeat...like I said, just with the information that you included in your post, I remembered that we had the same thing happen with our guys--NONE had heartbeats until 7 weeks 5 days. Heck, at 6 weeks 3-4 days or whatever there wasn't even a fetal pole on any of them. Just yolk sacs. We weren't sure that the pregancy was viable at that point--it was the next week that we saw the heartbeats and there were THREE!! Hugs...

  12. stac - i could have almost written your same page about drinking and felt the same way after my losses - and i don't drink either.
my prayers have been with you and the bean (and your family) -- and i will continue till i hear more from you.
i so wish i knew what time your appt was tomorrow -
i am hoping the best for you - i will check in as soon as i get a chance.
i am photographing a 1 year old bday - for a baby born at 26w 3d tomorrow - they are so thrilled he is even in this world!

you'll get your baby - and i pray for you it's the baby in your belly - but if for some reason it's not in the plan for now - there is a reason (even if it doesn't make sense to us now) -- and you will have a healthy baby!~~

    best to you -- julie
PS: do you think isaac is afraid of your reaction if you talk about it? or is he possibly in denial? i am sure you'll both have plenty to talk about tomorrow -- hugs!!
