Friday Night Leftovers

  • Today is the last day of eye drops. Hallelujah! On the good days, it was horrible. On the bad days, it was Ja.son trying to pull me off of Sh.awn because I was hurting him.
  • Which, in a sense, seeing Ja.son come to Sh.awn's aid was super sweet. Except it made eye drops that much harder. Sigh. I'm telling you his eyes are steel traps.
  • I did try Amy's suggestion. I had actually done it by accident right before she left her comment, but I was a little unsure of whether it went IN to his eyes in the end. I tried it again after her encouragement and it worked two more times. THEN, the boy got smart on me. I'd drop, he'd not open, and then he'd manage to wipe the damn things out of his eyes before the drops would go in.
  • Anyway, the drops are done as of tonight. 2 more to go. (Did I say that already? I am so happy about this, can you tell?) His eyes look pretty awesome, too. There's not a whole lot of redness left and they are super, super straight! Whoot! (I am trying not to think of the statistics that state that often preemies will need revisions for this surgery. Because, you know, we are DONE with surgeries.)
  • It is totally annoying me that I am writing fragments here, but I am too lazy to go back and fix them all. Forgive me. Or not. Whatever. (I am tired and snarky today. Sorry.)
  • This has been a rough week! The boys have been rotten. Something is up, but I can't figure out what it is. I know they have had some bored moments (still trying to find my groove with this parenting three thing), but that shouldn't account for all of this...rottenness. Is it just them being three?
  • Jack is eating at least every two hours again. He will eat no more than two ounces during the day. At night he'll eat two 4 ounce bottles. WTF? I think Is.aac may have broke him while he was "in charge" of Jack after the surgery. I am mostly kidding, but dude... I may be losing my mind. Growth spurt?
  • I went to work last week to do some certification stuff for a program I coordinate. While I was there, someone said something to me that still stings. I've been trying to get it out in a post, but I am having trouble even doing that. She said something along the lines of her being glad that I get the chance to raise a "normal" child. Ugh. It still brings tears to my eyes...
Stop by Danifred's to see more Leftovers.

  1. Ugh, i can only imagine some of the things people must say without ralizing how it makes you feel. Not that I want to defend what anyone says, but is there a chance that she really had no idea it was hurtful in a way? Maybe you should explain to her that it was and why. It would be a lesson that she will carry with her for life.
I am glad that you are done with the torture drops, er i mean eye drops. Does he seem to be healing well?

  2. It IS them being 3. Three was one of my least favorite ages.

    Yup, growth spurt.

And, hell yeah to the no more surgeries. I'm going to hold the universe to that for you.

  3. everyone always complained about the "terrible 2's" GIRL it's the "terrible 3's"!! Two's were supereasy compared, at least in my opinion (on the 3rd one in the 3's)
I'm so sorry, some people just do not think before they speak(I know I'm one of them)!!

  4. Phew - no more eye drops. I hope you drop kicked the bottle, stomped on it, and lit it on fire. Ok, maybe that was a tad much.
