In honor of ICLW, here are some random things about me...
- I married my high school sweetheart. We met when we were juniors and dated for 13 years before getting married. We've been married for 6 years.
- One Christmas, after he gave me a small box just the right size for a ring, we broke up. He had really given me a pager. Yes. A pager. I cried for a week. He didn't understand why I was so upset. (we were 24)
- We broke up one other time, eight months before we got married. I wanted to get married, he didn't. We went to counseling for three months, got engaged, and got married five months later. I am so glad we did. I do love him. (even though he has been driving me up the wall lately)
- I have twin boys who are just over a year old. They were 12 weeks premature and were in the NICU for 14 and 15.5 weeks before coming home. I was pregnant two other times before I had them.
- After my C-section, we found out that my tubes were wonky. They were fused to my intestines and surrounded by scar tissue. Wouldn't that have been nice to know about $30,000 ago?
- We are now trying for pregnancy #4.
- I would love a little girl because the testosterone level in my house is overwhelming.
- Who am I kidding? Actually, I would love twin girls. (I know. I haven't learned my lesson the first time.)
- I have two cats (my fur babies). They act a lot like spoiled children. In fact, I don't think one of them has any idea she is actually a cat. Not sure what she thinks she is, but I don't think it's a cat.
- I am picky and eat only one food at a time. It drives my husband crazy, but I will eat all of something on my plate before I move to the next item. I have done it ever since I was a little girl. Every now and then I catch my husband doing it, too, now. HEE HEE...
- I am happy with the same thing for lunch every day. (a ding dong, two hot pockets, a yogurt, and 1/2 a Pepsi -- in that order)
- I absolutely hate to cook. I like to bake, but that is about it. Thank goodness my husband enjoys cooking. I am not sure I would ever eat otherwise.
- My baking specialty is cinnamon rolls. I make killer cinnamon rolls.
- I am a HUGE I Love Lucy fan. My husband will turn it to the show and let me see the screen for a couple of seconds. He'll quiz me on which show it was, and I am usually right.
- I am very interested in meteorology. In fact, if I wasn't a teacher I would love to be a weather person. It might even be something I pursue after I retire. Who knows? People turn to me when they want to know what the weather will be at any given time. I am usually right.
- I am what one could call a "Slot Slut." I like to gamble, especially on nickel slots. I once won $1000 on a nickel slot when I hit a jackpot. (and no, I am not compulsive about it)
- I haven't been gambling since before I went on bed rest last year. Now that my dad is gone, I don't really have a desire to go.
- I still haven't dealt with my dad's death.
- Being in the car can now freak me out a little. Sometimes a lot. I must say I feel much safer in my Pilot.
- One day, I want to get my pilot's license. I have always been fascinated with flying a plane on my own.
- I am one of the few Californians who doesn't like the beach. I live less than five minutes away, and I can count how often I have been there over the last ten years on one hand! (It's too cold!)
- I am a jacket hoarder. Some people buy lots of shoes or accessories. Me? I buy jackets. Funny thing is that I rarely wear them once I get them home. I tend to stick to a few favorites and leave the others in my closet.
- I always wear a jacket. I have been known to wear a jacket on the Vegas strip in the middle of summer. In my defense, the hotels are very cold with all that air conditioning. I just didn't feel like taking my jacket off and putting it back on over and over again while we walked around.
- I am very afraid of spiders. My brothers used to torture me with them when I was a kid. My brain understands that they can't hurt me and that I am bigger than they are. I still can't be anywhere near one without freaking, although I am getting a little better in this area. Brothers are so fun sometimes.
- I would love to go to Times Square to watch the ball drop on New Year's Eve. Now, it would be okay if I was in a hotel room close enough to see it, too. Seeing how this happens in the middle of winter, I am a pretty cold person by nature, and this would mean I would have to travel across the country, I don't know when or even if I would ever do this. I still think it would be nice, though.
Okay. I think that is enough for today. (I got this idea from here, who I found through ICLW.) Welcome to everyone from ICLW!

How are you that skinny eating a lunch like that every day.
Is that ALL you eat ? :)
I too have a fear of spiders and would like to see the ball drop.
I have two sets and think you a mad woman. MAD I tell ya :)
OK.
1. What the fuck is a ding dong.
2. I do NOT understand why God would make spiders. I am TERRIFIED of them, I sweat, scream, and cry.
3. I hear you on the testosterone situation.
4. I laughed at the pager - I'm sorry! Do you still have it? :)
5. Thank you for checking in on me. I feel strange when I blog, lately. Full of angst and fear and bullshit, blah.
6. Puffy hearting you as always.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
(I seriously want to know what a ding dong is. Funny words .... almost like a codeword for "penis", meaning you would have a penis for lunch every day. Hopefully Isaacs. My goodness, am I REALLY leaving this comment!?)
Why yes ..... yes, Stacie, I am.
As the mother of twin girls, I can recommend it :)

Your lunch is definitely an interesting combo, but I wish I had a selection of go-to foods that I would always eat. I spend so much time deciding what to eat that I frequently don't get around to it at all before I have to do something else (like eat the next meal or feed a child!)
Wow! That is a really great way to get a picture of someone in about five minutes.
Nice to meet you!

OMG! I thought my husband was the only weirdo that ate all of one kind of food at a time. I guess I'll have to apologize for giving him so much shit about it all the time. LOL!
Love the intro! What a great way to learn about someone.
I want to try your cinnamon roles.
Returning your comment for ICLW.
Okay. I'll admit that I am a tad bit odd. Okay. A lot odd. :-)
Karen-no that's not all I eat. I eat like a pig usually. In fact, I just finished off a whole foot long sub sandwich. I chalk the skinniness to genetics. My people are either 5 feet tall and weigh 350 pounds or they look like me.
TC- can you imagine the looks I'd get every day if a ding dong was code for penis!? Oh my. I put a link on it so you can see what they are. Do I need to send you some? They are quite tasty. Yes I have the pager. Yes I am still upset about it all these years later. No he still doesn't get it. He says to tell you all that is was really quite pretty--pale blue and all. Whatever Isaac!
Geohde -- I would be overjoyed if I had twin girls like yours. They are beautiful. Although, from what you've said, they do have quite the fascination with poop. Can I leave that part out? :-)
Danifred -- that is exactly why having the old standby meal is wonderful. I never have to think about it. Thank God. I'd never eat, either, if I had to think first!
Cara -- nice to meet you, too!
Carrie -- weirdos unite! Isaac gives me shit, too. I must go tell him there are others!
My husband can be really annoying as well. Actually, he's pretty much annoying all the time but I love him anyway.
I usually eat one food at a time but I'm definitely not a picky eater. I think it has to do with when I was a kid and I wanted to get eating my vegetables over with.
Good luck getting pregnant again. I am pregnant with twins (IVF) and I have a 18 month old daughter (also IVF). I'm hoping for a boy and girl. :+)

I'm having twins, but thank goodness it's a boy & a girl. I think I would freak out if it was two boys!! :-) I love cats, gambling & eat only one food at a time too. Here from ICLW.
Oh honey...I feel you ion the testosterone issue. I am swamped by it...1 hubby, 3 boys, 2 male cats, 1 male dog, and 3 male fish. I am so outnumbered.
Here's a book you might appreciate...

Yes, tell him there are weirdos, but better yet people that believe you all are weirdos. LOL!
Thank you for the rundown and your honesty. It made me smile.
Here from ICLW. I always say that the most spoiled kid I know is my cat, Banana.
Re: #2 - the year I expected to get engaged (as in, told my husband when we bought the house that he'd BETTER propose within the next year) I thought a ring would come for my birthday. When he rolled out my present - an Ionic Breeze wrapped in a garbage bag - I *burst* into tears and sobbed all night. He's gotten better about gifts since then...
(ICLW)
I hope you get your two little girls someday!
I love the recap idea!! I am cracking up about your pager! I remeber when those were so cool. Also, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of your dad. Glad your boys are doing well. I totally feel you on the spider fear. They are so freaky looking and I hate it when they move, it gives me the chills!
ICLW
And really, a pager? In a ring box? What was HE THINKING?
ooooh, I need you make me some cinnamon rolls!!!
Thank you for the intro to your blog and thank you for the intro to yourself! Your boys are precious..and good luck (I know it's cliched to say) on TTC.
I love these types of useless facts things. I have one on my blog too. Just random crap about myself. BTW, I'm a Cali girl who lives about 20 mins from the beach and I hate the beach too. Too sandy. Though I do like the beach in other places. Just not OC. :)
