Well, the wishing didn't work. Hmph. So, helmet it is.
Don't get me wrong, I know this is the best thing for my little man. I get all that. I just wish he didn't need it. And, well, the failure of the wishing part is already established, so there you go.
I am wrapping my mind around it. I'll get there.

Today marks 6 months since my dad died.
I miss him.
I miss that he didn't really get the chance to meet and love on my boys. He only ever saw Sh.awn sick. He didn't get to see that incredibly sweet smile of his. He didn't hear Ja.son's instant belly laugh at my sneezes.
He would have loved being with the boys so much. Helmet and all.

wow stacie - i can't believe it's been 6 months already. it seems like just a short time ago - you shared his passing. your dad is in heaven watching over you and your whole family - please don't feel he isn't there for you guys. hey maybe he's met my dad - his anniversary of passing is oct 7th. and i completely feel ya on being sad that they didn't have the chance to enjoy our kids. i feel that way too. i guess that just makes it that much more important to let your kids know each day how glad your are to be their mom.
You're a good Mom. Although having to use a helmet is not an ideal situation, it is likely in your baby's best interests to do so.
It sucks about your dad, I know... I lost mine too. I was only 21 when he died. The first year is the hardest. The pain is so fresh and you just don't know what to do with it. Not a day goes by that I don't think "He never got to see any grandkids." It's sad and frustrating. {{{HUGS}}}
What a wonderful mom you are to take care of the shape of his head.
Now he won't be teased by the guys in the locker room when his head is shaved before the big homecoming game ;-)
I'm sorry about your dad. He is enjoying those boys. Just not upclose and personal.
I know what you mean. Wishing something away just doesn't work, so we have to find a way to accept and cope with things the way they are. And to be thankful. But it is damn hard.
I'm so sorry that your Dad missed all those great things with your boys - but I truly believe he's watching from afar.
Beautiful Stacie. I read this post last night, and went to bed, thinking how unfair it was that your dad wasn't here to enjoy his precious grandsons.
Thinking of you. I really hope the helmet isn't too freaking annoying.

Sorry to hear that he needs the helmet, now you just have to pray and wish that it works quickly.
Even if your dad isn't physically here, you know he is watching the boys grow and laughing along with you each and every day.
{{{Hugs}}}...I'm sorry you are missing your dad so much right now. I'm really feeling the loss of my FIL right now too (dealt with leftover stuff from the funeral yesterday).
Hopefully, the helmet will quickly correct the issues and then it can be banished forever. I vote for a party and destruction with a hammer the day he no longer has to wear it.
