When we got our refund in 2006 - our tax return check showed up in our mailbox the exact day I discovered a major leak in the bathroom. New plumbing, wall, sink and cabinet later, and the check was gone.
In 2007 - We used it to help fund IVFs # 2 and 3.
In 2008 - I payed for my dad's funeral
And for 2009's - On top of the whole IVF stuff that will be coming this year, I woke up today with a tooth annoyance. It doesn't exactly hurt, but I know it is there, which is never a good thing when you talk about teeth. It looks like a dental visit is in my immediate future. I suspect that that molar which would 'eventually need a crown' has finally decided it was time to wear a hat. Oh, joy.
Now, I sure hope that this doesn't mess with the laparoscopy* schedule. If this somehow disrupts the plan and I have to postpone the surgery, I think I would literally lose. my. mind.
Seriously.
The plan is what is keeping me going. I freaking need THE PLAN.

*As an aside, when I do spell check, it always suggest that "laparoscopy" should be "periscope." Really, blogger? That is as close as you could come with all of the ALI bloggers out there? Jeez.

We have that sad trend of tax returns equally huge expenditures in money.
Good luck with the tooth.
Our taxes are already spent (and usually then some :) Livin on the edge people...livin on the edge.
How do you have spell check. My blog doesn't even offer it. :(
Unfortunately, I think that is the trend for most people. I hope that you can figure out the tooth problem without disrupting your plans.
I have spell check too and it does crack me up sometimes:)
Ours is here and gone again.... Never lasts long enough or spreads as thin as you want does it!!
We've had that trend too. This year, my beloved 13 yr old Honda Civic died (new car $18K), last year our sump pump died ($2K)and the neighborhood association got pissed about our dying lawn ($2K), and the year before we had J and I ended up spending 6 days the the hospital. There must be some way to end the voodoo curse...
That is ALWAYS the case- when you come into money, some a**hole breaks something in your life and makes you lose it. Like this mystery demon is waiting for the check to hit your hands before they're like "Your roof needs a huge hole" or "Your car doesn't need it's engine does it?"
Why can't we just spend it on toys and crap? WHERES THE FUN?????
