And 1 Makes 11

Surgeries.

Because that is what is in store for poor little Sh.awn. Seems that the simple little office procedure I was promised is no longer on the table.* Great.

No hurry, of course. Whenever we can work it into our schedules will be fine.

That means another intubation, another round of sedation, another trip to the hospital, and another fucking surgery.

The urologist's office will call at the start of the year to schedule us in for January. Supposedly it will be a single day procedure without an overnight stay. Blah, blah, blah...

I feel defeated again.

Sigh.

*We were told that the excess fluid would be drained via needle if it hadn't gone down by his first birthday. Now, after his examination, it looks as if there is excess tissue creating the fluid, and it wouldn't matter how often we drained it, it would keep returning. So, the only option is to surgically remove the tissue. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

----

ETA I had forgotten the best part of the whole excursion. It seems that I started my period (in a bad kind of way) a full 10 days early, which definitely means there is no Christmas surprise on a pee stick waiting for me. Plus, I left a little present on my new LEATHER car seats. Thankfully, I managed to get it up, but still.

Ugh...Jacen had the fluid as well, but it went away about 6 months ago. I hope you guys feel better! And of course that at least this new procedure will be as simple as possible and everything will go smoothly. But YAY on the crawling :D

Happy Holidays!! We're going on a 10 hour car trip to PA to see Matt's family, so I'm hoping that we survive the journey and that the babies don't get sick with something. That's such a drag.

Here's a question...want be TTC buddies? We are trying again as well, beginning this month (BFN). If so, just send me an e-mail...jmadeira@indiana.edu :D

Love,

Ah. I am so sorry your lil one needs yet another op....

As for the period- I had a miracle *spontaneous* egg pop a week ago- my first since having the bubs and got my period a couple of days ago. Luteal phase = pointless.

Sigh..

it must be really tough for a kid to go through so much at such an early age. i hope that this new procedure solves the problem and that he can grow up with little recollection of this time.
sorry you got your period that early.

so sorry about the surgery - that must be so frustrating. And I have to agree AF is insulting. Since it is 10 days early, could it be implantation bleeding - possible, at all??? Just trying to hold out some hope! Thinking of you. meme

I'm so sorry that this is your last resort to solving Shawn's issue. I am nervous my Comedian is going to need eye surgery. Eeeekkk! She is wearing a patch right now and doing ok, but we'll see.

I'll definately check back and find out how things are going.

I'm sorry he needs yet another surgery. At least they're saying no hospital stay.

As always, it will be worse on you than on him. Um, at least our kids will have interesting baby books? Yeah, no consolation here, either.
