Um, is it normal to have really heavy, painful periods after having a baby or two? I swear it feels like there's a football twisting around in my abdomen and under my ribs. Cramps galore. (and I wasn't really a crampy type of girl before) Makes me wonder about the scar tissue that was mentioned after I had the boys.

PMS, you are not my friend. Better yet, you are not my husband's friend. Or my kids' at school. Or the cats'. Thankfully, the boys haven't had to deal with it much. Let's just say that we all would like to bid you adieu. (and I wasn't a PMSsy type of girl, either)

This probably isn't going to make the baby making thing any easier I bet. Great. Should probably get on making that yearly OB appointment sooner rather than later. Sigh.

And while I am at it, shouldn't I be able to feel the skin just over my c-section incision by now? It has been 13 months. (holy cow!) Of course, for some reason, I lucked out and got the scar from hell--it reaches from just about an inch inside hip bone to hip bone (approximately 7 inches long). Does anyone else have a scar that big? Dude. They weren't even 3 pounds when they were born. Did it really need to be that long?

Okay. Enough of my complaining. I am off to take some Ad.vil and hit the hay.

Try an alle.ve for cramps. I love it. And yes, having babies messes with EVERYTHING. It's a joy, huh?

My cramps were much worse after my twins. My NP gave me an Rx for 800mg of Ibprofin. I start taking them the day before I think it's gonna start (or right at the first feelings of cramping) and then for the first 2-3 days of my period. It really helps me.

Mine is quite the opposite.
I had HORRIBLE cramps for YEARS AND YEARS and then after having kids have had it much easier.

I hope yours go away with the next pregnancy. :)

I dont feel the skin under my c section scar, or my stomach! If I pinch my stomach, I dont feel it.

People have NOT heavy painful periods, ever? Huh, the things you learn. (And don't know if they change post-baby, I wasn't allowed to find out.)

I have a scar that big from my first surgery .. they went through it for the c-section, and it's maybe 3/4" smaller on either side. And after my first surgery with the bigger scar, it took 2+ years for feeling to return. On the upside? The c-section was pain-free because they reused the incisions.

I still have horrible pain in my incision. Even though it's numb. I know that doesn't make any sense but that's just the way it is. My OB thinks that nerve endings got sewed up causing the sharp pain I feel.
He referred me to a pain doctor almost a year ago but I haven't followed up. I should probably do that but I'm not looking forward to what they might do.

My cycles have certainly changed since giving birth. I rarely had a period on my own prior (hence IVF). After I had an IUD in for almost a year and had NO period with it. Since I had it out in May I've had a regular period! Very weird.
So basically I'm saying that hormones are a crazy thing and it's possible for you to now be pmsy and crampy. Fun stuff :-)

Thanks, everyone. At least now I know that it isn't just me (and I am not going crazy).
