Hmm...not sure I understand. It's measuring on time, right, since your retrieval was July 3rd, and 2 weeks before that would be the start of the 6 weeks? So the problem is that you don't have a heartbeat? Ok, I don't see that as being worth a 30% chance of viability. NONE of my triplets had heartbeats at my first scan which was 6 weeks 3 days. Not one. But at 7 weeks 5 days they all had heartbeats. My doctor wasn't alarmed at all. So I don't see the basis for 30% viability, unless I'm just not thinking straight...
One more question...was there a fetal pole? What did it measure?
Usually if the gestational sac measures more than 16-18mm with no fetal pole or the fetal pole measures 5mm with no heartbeat, then that is grounds for a diagnosis of miscarriage or blighted ovum is made.
OH NO !!! I don't want to tell you this story for any other reason than to give you a last shred of hope. I know someone who went in for an ultrasound. They told her there was no heartbeat. Her partner was a nurse and watched the whole ultrasound and too was convinced. She is a all natural kind of girl so when they suggested a D&C she declined and said I will wait and let my body do it's thing. Weeks and still no bleeding no nothing. She went back in for an ultrasound and there it was, a heartbeat. She's now 6 years old and cute as can be. They explained it to be a vanishing twin thing.
Stacie I am SOOOO sory. I am truly so so sorry. I am hoping and praying for that 30%. I mean...with ALL that I am I'm asking the universe for that 30%. HUGE hug. I mean, wrap my arms around you and hold you, hug.
Oh, I am holding you in my heart right now. I'm sure that it must be hard to hold out hope (although 30% is much higher than zero, from the outsider standpoint).
I'm so sad that you can't cry... I wish for you a good cleansing cry, great support (both IRL and URL), and a bite of some fabulous chocolate. Oh, and better news come the weekend, I wish for that too.
hi stacie - i don't want to say how sorry i am cuz that might sound like i am giving up hope -- which i am NOT!! i so very much wanted to hear wonderful news when i checked back - but i am going to pray for you and your little bean ---- pray pray pray for a healthy little baby to come from this --- i'll hold my hugs and sorrow till you are sure one way or the other.
Still hoping for that 30% though! 6w4d is not THAT far off, and before 7 weeks a heartbeat is not always there yet. So. Keeping toes AND fingers crossed for you, still!

Oh crap, Stacie. What a week you're having.
30% is not 0%. It may be too hard for you to have faith right now, so I'll hold on to hope for you.
So sorry.
