Anyway, the good news is that the boys' eyes have not changed at all.
Bad news: we go back in 3 months and talk about the surgery for Ja.son's strabismus. And while he does not see pressure pushing on Sh.awn's optic nerves, the doctor did agree that the eye turning is most likely due to pressure near his nerves. His words..."so you'll most likely have another revision some time soon?" Couple that with Sh.awn's increased pickiness over eating (he ate very well for about 5 days, now we are back to him not eating as much or being very specific about what he'll allow in--not his norm), and I am back to being depressed.
I just want a fucking break already.
Is.aac and I are trying to decide what to do. The neurosurgeon, who continues to downplay the whole eye thing in the first place, offered to give us names of a few ophthalmologists to check his eyes. Because, you know, it couldn't be a head thing. Now that we've done that, we're going to have to go back and demand yet another CT scan. But, because our doctor only works T-Th, that makes things tricky.
This is going to mean surgery again. How many times are they going to be able to play in his head before they fuck him up even more than they already have? It makes me want to cry.
To top it off, I work tomorrow and Friday, and go back to school full time the week after next--as if things weren't hard enough.

UGH. i would have been so irritated at that eye doctors office. Can you switch at all??
Once i have a bad experience I try to find a new doctor. My time is just as precious as theirs.
Can you find any time to schedule a girls weekend with some BFF's?? Or at least a weekend away from everything??
Keeping you in my thoughts
If he hasn't had one in awhile, can you shoot for an MRI instead of the CT scan? For whatever reason I seem to remember that being better, even for reasons beyond the radiation ... might give a different view on the situation in any case - and save him the radiation.
I hope things settle down again soon.
Oh honey...it's time for the universe to give y'all a break...NOW! {{{Hugs}}} and prayers and that neurosurgeon is an ass.
I was wondering when you went back. YUCK.
I hear you about the scheduling thing. When they were scheduling for my U/S they wanted to double book me. I said. NO. I wait over an hour when I am double booked. It's awful.
Is there any possibility to get a different doc. This one is such an ass.
I pray that everything works out. There should be a point where God can step in and say ENOUGH. this family has been through enough...and make everything right.
I pray that happens.
I'm unsettled because you are.
you seem to know the clues and piecces to that kids puzzle more than anyone. Get that CT scan.
Don't stress out about it. That is what substitutes are for.
Positive thoughts and prayers for you.
Hang in there, Stacie. I know it's rough and lots of things are less than rosey but you've got a good head on your shoulders and are doing everything you can (plus) to make sure the boys get what they need.
PS my kids are 12 and 13 and we're still doing the picky eating one day, eat anything in sight the next day thing.
I hope everything is okay, and the CT comes back ok. You've all had enough of the inside of hospitals lately.
In a minor aside, how many CTs are you up to? I'm thinking about the cumulative radiation dose...

You do deserve a break, it is getting ridiculous. Hugs.
