17 Days

Three years ago today, Jason's water broke. We headed to the hospital, where I had a course of steroids to hopefully mature the babies' lungs when they come early. I was exactly 26 weeks pregnant.

In 17 days, my boys will turn three. The countdown to the boys' birth is on.

I keep telling myself that these "anniversaries" will someday lose their power. I suppose to some extent, they have, but the sadness is still there.

The guilt rears it's ugly head.

The what ifs come to the forefront.

I know that I tried to do all that I could to keep the boys inside for as long as I could...

still...

Sometimes, I wish I could go back to that time and do something different. What, exactly, I am not sure.

I wish it anyway.

Please, if you haven't yet, stop by Louise's blog and leave your condolences for her family. I'd love for them to be blown away by the support our community has for one of its own. Louise deserves it.

I am sad for you. In 5 days I also start my first ever countdown to my boys' birth and I am not looking forward to it. For both of us I hope that one day the sadness and guilt associated with their birth circumstances passes. Hugs. Positive thoughts about all the joy that came out of it :)

Anniversaries tend to make those old feelings come roaring back. Thinking of you as you deal with the emotions.

I can only imagine how difficult these anniversaries are for you. Do your best to tell yourself that you are an AMAZING mom to those boys! And if that doesn't work, I'll tell you and kick guilt right on out!

You are awesome and amazing! Always and forever!
*HUGS*
