Updating Through the Anesthesia Haze...

It's official. I am stitched and closed up tight. They did do general anesthesia, which was a relief to me. I wasn't' looking forward to the long stretch of lying flat and the headaches.

I was quite the star at the surgery center. They remembered me...and my hives. Luckily, there were no hives today. :)

The only blip in the experience was when they had trouble finding the heart beat after surgery. They tried three different times (and man it was hard to not let my panic overtake me by that point) before they finally called my OB in to look for it. He tried and couldn't find it either. (cue freak out) He asked if I had to pee and sent me off to the bathroom.

Thankfully, they found it right away after my bladder was emptied. Whew.

There is no discomfort really. I am still spotting every time I use the restroom. That should end within the next 24 hours. I have no cramping to speak of, but I do know that people have visited my nether region. Strange feeling.

Now I am off to go take yet another nap. Or eat. Hm. Both possibilities sound great.

Thanks for all the good vibes. I think they helped!

Yay! Glad that's over with and all is well!

I'm sure that would be a strange feeling to feel that people had been all up in your business while having no actual memory of it.

It's so much fun being a girl!

Go to the bathroom to pee? I would have done it right there in my pants if that were happening to me.

Thank you for your comment about about my loss. Those are exactly the words I wanted to hear, but hadn't yet.

Thank you.

Thanks for the update! I can't imagine how you must have been feeling when they couldn't find the heart beat!

Hopefully the rest of this pregnancy is boring and uneventful!

ooooh, that was NOT nice. I was so anxious my heart was in my ears until I read that everything was fine.
I can't imagine that. I remember after my miscarriage on to my next pregnancy...entering that room with the ultrasound and the girl couldn't find the heartbeat....so she asked me to go empty my bladder and acted like it was no big deal....she was going to wand me.
When I was sitting on the toilet in the bathroom I started bawling. I did the whole horribly ugly panic cry.
When I came back out she wanded me and sure enough...there she was. :)

I'm SO SO happy things went well for you. I hope that the stitch does the trick :)

Glad to hear you are all "buttoned up"! Wow, you must have been a basket case when they couldn't find the HB! I'm sorry you had to go through that! Then again, I say WTG Chickie for getting the clerage in the 1st place - way to be proactive and stick to your guns. Hugs!
