Of note, my bladder was super slow fill even after 16 ounces of water and an hour and a half wait. (The exact words were, "That is strange.") This is the same bladder that filled to maximum capacity in ten seconds flat while doing the last transfer. (The tech thought that I knew what my bladder usually looked like full was odd. Doesn't everyone?) Don't know what is up with that. Could it be that something is going on with my bladder? Hm.
Also of note was that I was supposed to have a full bladder in the first place rather than the 'no eat or drink for 6 hours prior' directions I was given. Basically I starved myself for no reason. Grr.
New theories:
1) I passed the stone sometime between Saturday (when I started bleeding) and yesterday. I only felt pain on Saturday night, and I still wouldn't describe the pain as excruciating like everyone says it is. I can't imagine that I have that high of a tolerance to pain. Plus, not sure why that would leave moderate amounts of blood in my urine sample on Monday. The good news is that I am not spotting today.
2) It is a bladder infection which is not being cleared by this type of antibiotics I am currently taking. Still waiting for yesterday's urine culture to come back. But, that still doesn't explain why the first sample last week was clear. Perhaps because I caught this thing early?
3) I'm bleeding somewhere else. I don't want to think about that one.
3) I am crazy. Personally, I am starting to think this one is more likely the answer. Sigh.
So that is where things stand right now. Basically, I learned a whole lot of nothing today.

I know that crazy is a bad answer in some ways, but in another way, it can mean it's all fine! LOL I doubt you're crazy, though.
Could the blood be in your SAMPLE rather than in your urine? If you're bleeding? How good are you at clean catch?
Thought of that. I was pretty careful though, especially yesterday. (tmi-but two wipes just to be sure) I was probably more careful yesterday than I was at the hospital, so...

When I had a stone and the pain had gone but I still had traces of blood I was told that as the stone moves from the kidney to bladder the ureter contracts with every movement of the stone causing the ureter to bleed. Maybe you had a small stone that you've passed already and the bleeding is from that?
Just wanted to give you my experience with stones. I get them A LOT and when I have them there is trace amounts, to HUGE amounts of blood in my urine. I get very large stones that hurt like heck when they are moving around in there. And are very uncomfortable sitting in my bladder,but they never hurt when I am actually passing them. My last stone was so large they wanted to do surgery to remove it, 8mm, but when it actually passed I felt no pain. So it may be that you passed the stone.
I think that crazy does not explain the blood in urine, and anon has the best explanation. Ouch!
Okay, maybe I am not as crazy as I thought. So this could still be a stone that I passed? Man, that makes me feel better. I swear I thought I was losing it!
