Thoughts That Probably Are Nowhere Near As Meaningful As They Seem At 2 AM
- Today was day 2 at home. It was on the harder side. I'm pretty sore, and I think I totally overdid it yesterday. I am trying to be very cautious today. Isn't always easy to do!
- We've decided that Is.aac will focus on the big boys and I'll focus on the Tank. That has helped some. :-)
- Yes, he is a Tank. He chugs 70 ml of formula every one and a half to two hours. "Chugs" may not even be the best description. Think...downing a shot of alcohol...yes, that is about right.
- He lost exactly 7 ounces in the hospital and had already started gaining it back while we were still there.
- Apparently the nurses weren't used to that?!? Is that not the norm? Ahem.
- He doesn't fit into his newborn clothes or diapers. They tried to squeeze him into nb diapers the first day, but when he kept leaking through!! they finally gave us some size 1s.
- It still blows my mind to think all that BABY came out of me. Holy hell. I can't imagine how he fit in here.
- His feet are freaking huge. I just want to gobble them up. :-)
- Ja.son wants me to take Ja.ckson to the nursery and leave him there.
- Sh.awn just tries to pretend he isn't here at all.
- Plus poor Sh.awn gets so upset and dissolves into a puddle of tears every time Tank cries. It is funny but so sad to watch him!
- Ja.son did "hold" and "feed" the baby today, so that was cute.
- So...um i guess we can call our homecoming a success? Lol
- Both the big boys do think the baby burping/farting is hilarious though.
- I've done a lot of sleeping today. No controlling it, my body just says sleep NOW! and there is not much I can do about it but sleep!
- I am sure that is the best thing for a person like me. If my body didn't make me, I probably wouldn't sleep at all.
- TMI- I did poop though. Yeah. Glad that is over. Even more glad that we know my body is working to some degree.
- Is.aac is hanging in there. He's tired, which translates to grumpy. That is not a good combo with my hormones.
- We had a bit of a scuffle over what I can/can't do. He just wants to do it all to be "helpful." That just hurts my feelings because it feels like he doesn't think I can do anything. The grump he is sporting also means he hasn't been the nicest when he "helps" me, so I have shed more than a few tears. (gotta love hormones) We are working through it though.
- I am now up because Ja.son is having some sort of night terror. He's been talking and hollering for about 20 minutes now. He won't be consoled, so I've sent myself into my bedroom so I can try to not hear him. It isn't working. Poor baby. He's had his whole world turn upside down this weekend. No wonder he has nightmares.
- Time for more percoset. People, why did none of you tell me about these "after pains"? I've had contractions pretty regularly since Thursday! Not. Fun. And you know what? One percoset, per the perscription's directions, Does.Not.Cut.It. Taking two is making my nice full bottle of lovely drugs disappear before my eyes. That is making me all twitchy. I needs me some percoset. :-(

Glad things are going well enough!
Try piggybacking motrin with the percoset (yes, it's safe, just don't use tylenol! Perc, vicodin, and tylenol are all in the same family.). So you can take one perc, and then 2ish hours later take 600-800 mg of ibuprofen (motrin, advil). Honestly, perc never does anything for me. Vicodin is more effective, but I get onto motrin as soon as I can eat.
Sooo sorry, I totally forgot to mention that "labor after baby" thing, darn ute!!!
I had me some vicodin/Motrin and that worked quite nicely!!!
Too nicely I think ;-)
So glad things are ummmmmmmmmmmm working properly... Just wait til day 4ish the ENTIRE world will be against you and you will spend the day crying(or wait maybe that's just my family)??
So glad the boys are acting like normal kids with a newborn!
Congrats again on "the tank"
Congratulations! he's very handsome! Thanks for letting me follow you.
Just love that you can call him the Tank and the boys are adjusting and loving on their new brother.
yeay you're all home!! and getting settled.... i LOVE that you're calling this baby tank - it's hilarious! i too find it hard to believe such a tiny person like you can pop out a giant baby! but you did - good work!
after pains - didn't you have any of that with your twins? they suck. and percoset and norco are your best friends - if you didn't get norco - ask for some to be phoned in - it's better than vicodin - it's got more loopy stuff and less acetominiphen. (SP??) my doc told me it's better to stay on top of it than to try to play catch up - for the 1st 2 weeks. . . i didn't listen the 1st c - section - but the 2nd one - was like a dream - it was so much better staying on top of it. try it === they give you the meds to help.
and get some sleep sister. your body needs it.
sorry to hear jason is having nightmares, i hope it's over soon - and shawn will come around - when he's ready.
enjoy your little tank -- he's just the cutest baby out there!!
It sounds like it's almost time for an intervetion. Put down the pills and step away from the bottle. :)
Sorry you are in so much pain. I hope resting more will help you heal quickly.
The boys will come around. It sounds like pretty soon Tank will be taking them out. ha ha
Thanks for the post. Can we get some big baby rolls and cheeks pictures please ? :)
So pleased to read that Tank is gaining weight.
Husbands mean well, but they don't always know the best thing to say or do. It is hormones for everybody.
I was smiling at your twins' reaction to Tank.
Sounds like you guys are settling in nicely. I'm sure the boys will grow right into their big brother roles.
My contractions and after pains were sooooo much worse the second time around. Ugh.
Honestly, percoset SUCKS. They gave it to my husband after his knee surgery and it did NOTHING for the pain. Vicodin is so much better for pain.
And, considering you have twins at home, it sounds like your homecoming went fabulously.
Just wondering how you're all doing. Are the pains lessening a bit? And the boys, are they getting along with their new baby brother? Or are they just wondering why he won't play with them instead of just spending all his time sleeping and eating?
As I said: just wondering how you're doing and whether the little big guy has found his place in your family yet...
