Nothing new to report so far. We left for the hospital this morning at 9:30 am (to avoid the traffic), hoping to see the doctors during rounds. The neurosurgeon was also supposed to be there at around the same time. The only doctor we got to talk to was this very young second year. And we had talked to her the night the babies were admitted. She couldn't tell us much more than they were stable. Very helpful. We waited until 4:30 for the neurosurgeon before someone got ahold of someone to find out that he wasn't sure when or if he was coming today. Sigh. This was definitely another case of hurry up to wait...
On a good note, we got to hold both babies for quite some time. They are soooo sweet! I still have to resist the urge to grab them and make a run for it.
Weights are up too: Jason is 4lbs 9ozs and Shawn is 4lbs 1oz.
And I got Shawn's umbilical cord. He finally lost it last night. Not sure what I am going to do with it exactly, but I just had to have it!

Those weights look FANTASTIC.
I would have the hardest time not tracking someone down and telling them to GET TO MY KIDS, NOW ! The good thing is....if it was something so urgent they would be jumping down your throats...it sounds like things are going well.

Glad things are stable! I thin KJ is right, if there were any immediate problems, they'd be all over them. While my two were in NICU, I never really felt like they belonged to me, but to the nurses. It was a strange feeling. Just curious, is there any chance you could stay at a Ronald McDonald House so you don't have to do that drive every day? I kind of have a feeling where you are, and I know there are some in the area. Just a thought. I definitely agree with KJ and my two cents that it sounds like the babies are stable, thank god! What wonderful news. With the NICU it's definitely a priority-based system...the doc's always with the sickest babies other than rounds. It is aggravating that the neurosurgeon wasn't in though. At least you got some serious cuddle time in :D They love it as much as you do!! How wonderful to know that those precious beings know that you guys are the parents!!
Do you ever feel like you are a parent in training at the NICU? It felt so good when we brought our first triplet home since we could finally do everything we had wanted...hold without wires, cuddle, etc. We felt like real "normal" parents for the first time then, it was just an unbelievable feeling.
The weights are SO good!
It all sounds positive to me, too. Their weights especially look fantastic.
