Friday Night Leftovers

The last couple of days were somewhat better, so I think I am on to something with this whole schedule thing. Yea.

~~~
Ja.son deliberately lied to me yesterday. Twice.
Oh my heart.
I knew he was lying at the time, although I couldn't get him to admit the truth in the moment. (Yes, Sh.awn was there to rat him out, but I would have known he was lying just by how he looked when he said it.) I later got him to confess, and he was remorseful, but still. We have many more discussions about trust in our future.
~~~

My hair is falling out. Sigh. It just isn't right for your hair to fall out without the snugly little baby to come with it.

I'd be out of the first trimester by now. You know, if I was keeping track of things like that.

Also, if I was keeping track of things like that, I'd know I am on cd21 and should start af in a few days. I'd know that I would test positive by now if it was going to happen. I'd also know that I wasn't testing positive. If I was keeping track, that is.

I hate that I want to get another chance at this.

~~~
I think I need to stop thinking now.
~~~

Stop by Danifred's for more Leftovers.

I have read various studies on kids and lying. At Jason's age, 90 some odd percentage of kids lie. But here is the thing. If you punish lying, the studies show that those kids become better liars -- they don't lie less, they lie more and in a more convincing manner. And the reason is that kids lie because they want to please their parents. If they have done something wrong, they lie because they want their parents to be happy with them, and they know if they tell the truth when they've done something wrong, the parents will not be happy. When they get punished for lying, they then decide that they need to get better at lying so as to please their parents. The only thing that works to diminish lying (in addition to maturation) is praising truth telling whenever it happens. All comes back to wanting to please their parents. If the parents get happy when they tell the truth, the kids will do it more.

Stop thinking? If you do find a way to do that let me know.

Sorry for the hairfall - such an insult to the injury.

I think Jason is experimenting with different behaviours? Have no gyan for that!
