In response to the post below this one...

I have backed away from the edge just slightly. I cried. I got mad at the world. I am feeling better now.

I called the boys' OT and talked with her about what the doctor said and seemed to see. Interestingly, she wasn't committed to saying that he was a high risk for CP. She didn't discount it as a risk, but it was a risk from the moment they were born early and she didn't see anything that would make her lean toward saying the risk had increased. While the doctor was pleased with Shawn, her concerns were for Shawn because he was tense for her (apparently that isn't good either). She did note some low muscle tone in Jason, but what she noted was that he was well within "normal" for his adjusted age. Actually, they both fell within that mystical normal range for development.

The OT is quite experienced and has been doing this for several years. She is knowledgeable and innovative. I like her and I think I trust her--but then again, should I trust anyone when it comes to the boys? And then again, how can I not?

So what do I think? My heart wants to believe all is okay. My head is scared and flying all over the place with worry. I am not sure what my gut says. Is it my gut that makes me afraid or just my over active mind?

So now I am trying to follow the guidelines of IF there is something going on with Jason and Shawn, they are getting early intervention that will minimize and possibly help to correct whatever it is.

That is the best I can do right now.

I just hope it is enough.

Oh Stacie, I am so sorry. I can't imagine how devistated you must have been to hear that kind of news.
Did they do a cat scan ? I mean was their damage that they could see or are they just going by physical characteristics right now ?

I'm going to start praying right now and if that means that I pray until they are 3 years old then so be it.

Please please please don't blame yourself. Please know that you did everything you could to bring them safely in to this world.
And you will do whatever it takes now moving forward to make sure that they have the best life, wherever it may take you.
Whether it be therapy or green hair and a tongue ring. ;)
You are their BEST MOM EVER !

Oh Stacie. I'm sending you out so many hugs! I can't imagine how scary this is, and frustrating that the drs say "We have to just wait and see." I want to tell you to STOP beating yourself up, but I know you won't listen to me. I just want you to know that I'm thinking of you and your boys, and sending my love and prayers!

Regardless of what the doctors and OT says they are your little boys, your flesh and blood and you will love them no matter what. Try not to worry for that will not help them (or you) but take things in stride, know that you did absolultely EVERY thing you could do in your power to make them healthy and whole and it is totally out of your hands right now. If one of the boys develops any physical ailment it is not your fault. You do know that deep down....maybe way way deep down but you know you did everything and now its in God's hands. If we all had the power to do the things we think we caused in this world man would we be living in a world we wouldn't want!! We dont have those powers, only God does so let him have it, get rid of the guilt you are putting on yourself and just love those little boys the best way you know how. IF and I say IF one gets sick, then no guilt, get the help they need as best as you are able and continue to love love love the best way you know how. You are an amazingly loving mummy and are doing fantastic with everything that has been thrown your way. Don't lose all that strength you finally found. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way, ISA

Sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear CP is being bantered around.

It looks like you've moved forward a bit from your last post, you know that they are doing their best to give your babies the earliest possible treatment for anything they need.

Let me know if you need to talk, you've got my email...
