Jason and his dad were in the bathroom. Is.aac was keeping him company during yet another trip to the potty.
While he was on the pot, Ja.son began playing with the two firetrucks--a white one and a yellow one--he had brought with him. For a bit he had the two trucks driving around covering the various fires he imagined around the bathroom, but then he decided it was time for the trucks to go back home to rest.
"The mommy truck is tired. It needs to go back home to go to sleep." He grabbed the yellow truck and started pushing it away.
"No. This isn't the mommy firetruck." he said as he shoved the yellow truck aside.
"It's not?" Is.aac asked.
"No. This is the mommy firetruck." he stated as he picked up the white one. "It looks more like mommy!" Is.aac laughed at that. (Is.aac told me later, he thought the boy had a point.)
"And this one," Ja.son said with a smile as he held out the yellow truck, "is the daddy firetruck."
He grabbed the two firetrucks and pushed them both toward "home."

We've talked about how everyone has different colored skin in our house when they've asked (that is just how he/she is made), but this is the first time we've seen it come out in play. I wonder what his mind is thinking about the matter.
Thoughts?

I think it's incredibly perceptive and very interesting that it came out this way.
