Pride

It is probably hard for many of you to understand how big what you'll see in the following picture is to me. It may be hard to understand what all the fuss is about, too. It is something babies do all over the world, usually at one-third of the age my little guy is.

It makes my heart swell with pride and happiness when I see this picture. Because, you see, this is something that isn't easy for my little man. In fact, it is has been so hard for him that his little arms would shake after a few seconds and he would crumple exhausted to the ground. But, he did it. Over and over. I think, mostly for me. And because he's stubborn and won't listen to those others who doubt...

After a few weeks, he mastered the skill for ten seconds. A few weeks later, he mastered twenty. He worked and worked. Until today when he held himself up for over a minute. Frankly, I was so excited that I lost track of time. Then he did it again. And again. And again!

I can see the next milestones just around the corner. They're coming! We've waited and worked oh so hard. Now they are so near we can feel the electricity in the air.

Someday very soon, my little Sh.awn is going to be crawling on all fours.

It is just a matter of time...

And I couldn't be prouder! :-)

I love how you shared the process of getting to this point, and the pride of reaching this goal.

aaaaaaaah ! Look at him ! Pushed up as strong and proud.
Thing is Stacie. he works twice as hard as any other kid and that makes it a million times more special when he accomplishes it.
It's not something that comes natural to him. He has to work and damn it, he is.
AMAZING little boy you have there.
Simply outstanding.

Ooohhh. That's lovely news. I love the jammies, too.

Now if there wasn't an inconvenient ocean our girls would love to play with your boys! Can you imagine the doubel takes of two sets of twins in the park?

Oh my gosh! That's soooo cool! I'm so excited to see that his arm is working so well!!! YAY!! That is so huge.

I hope you won't mind... I was just talking about you guys with my friend today - she is newly pregnant with twins and is scared that bad things could happen. I used your story as an example. :)

I told her that yes, bad things could happen and do. I told her I followed the story of this amazing family that has been through some of the hardest things I can imagine with a twin pregnancy. I didn't get into all the details, don't worry...

To sum up - I explained that even though you guys went through hell, you have made it through - you did it one day at a time. It seems like that is really the key - slow and steady, supporting each other the whole way.

I can't imagine how you made it - you are amazingly strong parents. You have worked and worked to get your boys through to this point and they have responded in kind. You guys should be VERY, Very proud of yourselves and your little ones.
