Why Is It...

...the second the boys lay down for a nap my husband gets the urge to mow the lawn? Of course the lawn is right under their bedroom window, and he has had hours before nap time to mow the lawn if he really wanted to.

...ten seconds after a child finally falls asleep for said nap, the other child poops and starts crying thereby waking the first child up?

...my husband thinks now that both babies are awake again he should bring up the whole lawn mowing topic?

...I give up and tell him to mow the damn lawn already and shut up about it?

...when you figure out a food that is a hit with your children, the very next time you serve it they throw it on the floor and won't eat it?

...that they have to throw so much food on the floor in the first place? What do I look like? A maid? Apparently so.

...that my boys think that farts are the funniest thing ever? When you protest and tell them how stinky they are (which is a requirement), they think it is even funnier.

...that when they aren't laughing at farting they are laughing at head banging against the sliding glass door in the living room? What can be so funny about that?

...I can't motivate myself to clean my house? Watching the dust bunnies roll down the hallway should be a clue that it is time. But, it isn't.

...that any kind of change now-a-days makes my ass nervous? I never used to be like that!

...that I am so cranky today?

Nap troubles. Yes, and yes. And lawn-mowing husband. YES.

It happens here too. Pretty much all of it. Misery, company, etc? :)

I hate to say, but farts and burps will ALWAYS be funny when you have people living in your house that have a penis. Sorry! The penis also hinders from thinking. Something about lack of blood flow to the brain, I think.
Here's a glass of wine to cheer you up *hands you a glass of wine*

The age old boy and fart conundrum. I will never understand it.

That reminds me of the saying..."you people make my ass twitch" :)
10.00 if you know what movie it's from.

They grow up and keep laughing at their farts...and I believe they get stinkier the older they get. :)
(mommy tip ! NEVER ! I repeat NEVER laugh at a fart. They will ALWAYS remember that you laughed and all of the hard work you've done up until said laugh will unravel quicker than a ball of yarn)

My dad used to do the same thing growing up on saturday mornings. I hated it. He would always wake me up by mowing past my window.

The first week of college I was taking a nap and the lawn crew was mowing the lawn. I heard it and was in that place between awake and asleep and I thought I was back home with dad mowing outside my window.

As an adult I love the memory hearing a lawn mower triggers....

but I guess that doesn't help with your children are little and are bears without naps does it. hehehehe

Oh, my kids are into gagging themselves for fun and laughter. We went past the head-banging stage, but ours never thought that was funny particularly; they just did it every 5 seconds when one of them stole a toy from the other(s). Totally relate on the food thing. Our dogs really help with that issue. We FINALLY found a straw sippy cup that the boys like and are working on that.

Mate, farts are HILARIOUS. Except when they are someone elses. That shit is just wrong.

I SO hear you on the lawn mowing thing. Dave won't mow the lawn, but talks so fricken loudly, or starts his ute up just outside the door. Then the baby wakes up five seconds after he is gone.

So. Annoying.
